  • What are the practical details?
    The program is delivered in English and follows a hybrid format (in-person sessions at KPMG offices in Amstelveen combined with digital components and self study. Two tracks apply1) internal KPMG track: 3-year in-company professional program, 2) external track: modular participation, duration depending on selected modules. Keep in mind that all external track modules need to be completed in order to obtain a Legal Technologist Certificate.

  • How is the (Intermediate) curriculum structured?
    The curriculum is built around the Legal Technologist capability wheel (link) and structured a crossfive capability domains: Tech-Savvy, Business-Oriented, Creative, Impact-Driven, and Legal Fundamentals.   • What modules are included in the Intermediate track?
    The Intermediate Programme includes modules such as Data & Cloud, AI & Platforms, Legal Tech & Agentic AI, Agile for Legal, Legal Operations, Legal Design Thinking, Legal Prompting, Digital Law Landscape, Responsible AI & Ethics, and Legal Risk in Emerging Technologies. Modules are distributed across the five capability domains.

  • Is the programme modular and can modules be followed separately?
    The programme is offered modularly. Individual modules may be followed separately. However, completionof the defined set of core modules is required to qualify for certification.

  • When do participants receive a diploma?
    There is a distinction between participation and certification. Participants receive a certificate of attendance per module. Internal participants who complete the full required trajectory receive certification as Legel Technologist at the end of there quired trajectory. Certification is awarded at the end of the required trajectory.
  • Who is the program designed for?
    The program targets junior and medior legal professionals with a solid legal foundation who aim to strengthen their digital, strategic, and advisory capabilities. The internal track targets primarily junior legal professionals, with opetional participation of medior colleagues.
  • How technical is the programme and how much prior knowledge is required?
    A solid legal foundation is expected, but no prior technical expertise is required. The programme develops technological fluency rather than engineering skills. Participants learn how AI, data, and cloud systems function conceptually and how to assess digital risks, without coding or advanced IT knowledge.
  • How much time does participation require?
    Participants attend approximately 8–10 sessions per year, complemented by preparation and practical assignments. The annual time investment typically ranges between 80–120 hours. Learning is directly linked to daily practice

Developed in collaboration with Radboud University’s Centre for Postacademic Legal Education (CPO) the Legal Technologist program combines academic rigor with KPMG’s business and technology expertise. Through a hybrid delivery model, with CPO providing theoretical foundations and KPMG leading practical application and real-world cases, participants gain skills they can use immediately. This partnership enhances quality and ensures the program is a trusted, market-relevant pathway for today’s legal professionals.
